Real Orb Weaver spider with flowers and rose gold colored rhinestones. This Orb Weaver spider is real, and I have preserved her, so she will always be this beautiful. There are over 2800 species of Orb Weaver spiders. Orb Weaver's build the beautiful perfectly geometric webs that most people are familiar with. Many Orb Weaver's, including this species, actually build a brand new web each night, and then often eat them in the morning. Makes you feel kind of lazy doesn't it? The pendant is 30mm x 45mm, and comes with a 24” black cord necklace.

I've developed a process to preserve real spiders so they don't need to be encased in resin, or kept in alcohol or other preserving liquids. This process also allows me to manipulate their bodies into cool positions that makes them look natural and alive. Spiders have soft abdomens that almost always deflate, which is why most people encase them in resin to preserve them. Because I don't have to encase spiders in resin to preserve them, my process is very unique, and very cool. My process is involved requiring multiple steps, and the work is intricate which is time consuming, but I think I've been successful with it, and it's definitely worth it.

All black windows, other spiders, beetles and good bugs are real and are caught by me. I live on a farm in a very hot climate. We have a huge variety of insect and spider species year round. I catch all the spiders by myself including the black widows, which definitely has an element of danger.

Please understand that all my jewelry is handmade by me, and therefore there might be small flaws or imperfections. This includes the spiders and other insects. Although the spiders are fully preserved, their legs are very fragile, and can sometimes break off while I'm working on them. When this happens I glue them back on, sort of like a Frankenspider.

I take all the photographs of my jewelry, but I am in no way a photographer. I've done my best to accurately capture the look and color of each piece of jewelry, however, there might be slight color differences etc. The glass domes that cover the pendants in the photographs can sometimes make the image blurry, or distort the shape of the pendant, so I've taken multiple photographs to try to compensate for it.

Each pendant takes a long time to make, and the process is involved and requires very intricate work. I package the pendants very carefully, but any damage to a pendant would happen during shipping, so to avoid extra risk I don't accept returns.
