Bennett good Forged Shutter Dogs

good Also known as shutter stays, hold backs or dogs. The antique originals are located on Barre Street in Charleston SC on the Governor Bennett house and were originally made by local slaves. Each piece is hand wrought on our forge by a blacksmith, then galvanized and powder coated. Shutter dogs are gravity weighted to keep them in position. Sold by the pair with stainless steel screws. You will not find a more accurate reproduction. The front arm measures 6-1/8" long, the mounting plate measures 2-1/4" x 2-1/4", and it projects 2-1/2" from the bottom of the base to the bottom of the arm. These can be ordered as a plate mount or with a lag bolt screw.
