1899 Paris Couture Fashion Agenda, Bon Marché, Book 19th Century, good Historical Paris Map, Agenda Buvard, Costume Designer Reference
Paris Couture Fashion Agenda Book 19th Century,
French Bon Marché, Historical Paris Map
An absolutely unique find - this booklet/leaflet was created by Bon Marché the first department store in the world, that opened in 1852 in Paris. This guide chronicles fashion trends from the early 1800s - 1899 when this agenda book was printed. The perfect good reference tool for costume designers or amazing frameable artwork for a shop or boutique.
This entire set consists of a linen booklet with a pull out colored poster showing 60+ dress styles throughout the 19th century. A few pages on the street rules of Paris, and another pullout colored map of Paris.
Measures;
The book itself measures; 11.25" X 7.75"
The fashion poster is 25.5" X 21.5"
The Paris map is 27" x 22" (it is attached to the back of the book).
As with something this old, there is heavy edge and corner wear. The binding has come part on the interior, and there is foxing and yellowing on the pages. The map and poster are also yellowed, with a bit of wear around the edges, which actually gives the pieces some great character.
