The term "launch fever" or "go fever" was coined back in 1976 following the Apollo 1 shuttle fire. Since then it has been used to reference other tragedies like the "Challenger" and "Columbia" disasters. Launch fever refers to the act of overlooking potential problems or errors when one is in a rush or hurry to complete a project.
This tee was probably made in the early eighties before the 1986 "Challenger" disaster, possibly in an attempt to reclaim the term and give it a more positive connotation.
