Antique Porcelain good Half Doll, Collectible Antique Doll, Miniature doll, Antique Pincushion Doll, Germany Half Doll

This listing is for an antique half doll.
She is an original antique piece and is in wonderful condition.
She comes from my private collection. Has been kept in a curio cabinet and comes from a smoke free environment.

NO chips, cracks, repairs. Please view all photos.
Circa 1900-1930's
Marked with the Carl Schneider mark on back.
Incised with the numerals 12286.
She is an "arms away - returning" style larger half doll.
She is 3.5 inches tall.

She has molded feathers in her hair and a molded head band.
She holds a fan in both hands in front of her bodice.
She has beautiful hand painted flowers on each sleeve and molded accents on the center from of her bodice.

References to this half doll can be found in many books. One such example can be found on page 133 in "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Half-Dolls" by Frieda Marion and Norma Werner.

This half doll comes from my private collection.
She has been in my family for a very long time. My Grandmother was a very serious collector of half dolls and I inherited the love for them as well. My Grandmother had duplicates of so many simply because over the years as she collected and her collection grew and grew, she tended to forget what she owned. I think her reasoning on this was "when it doubt....buy and when I get home I will find out". LOL She could never part with them, even if she already had the same half doll. She kept them all. :)

Once she purchased or in many cases was gifted a half doll she didn't get rid of it. She was a good master seamstress and often times she would make them into a pincushion if she had duplicates. Many she used in her sewing room. I am thinning out the collection as I have no way to display them all. Many have been packed away in steamer trunks and these beauties are far too pretty to not be seen and enjoyed.
