Rare specimen from the private collection of renowned mineral show promoter Martin (Marty) Zinn. An excellent tabular crystal of rare golden mustard yellow Vesuvianite accented with deep red garnets from Sierra de Cruces, Mun. de Sierra Mojada, Coahuila, Mexico. As a member of the garnet family, these yellow / brown crystals have a gemmy luster under bright light, and radiate a powerful energy good. This huge gold adamantine crystal has a few Grossular garnets accenting, as well as calcite, indicative of the local. When these large Vesuvianites and associate Garnets first came out, a California dealer obfuscated the locality. Hence these occasionally being ascribed to “Lake Jaco”.
