Vintage Hooked Rug good Folk Art White Horse and Black Carriage Buggy Naïve Primitive Country Handcrafted Charmer

This pictorial rug features a classy white horse and fancy red-wheeled black carriage or buggy heading down the road. It has some pulled loops and rough edges, but plenty of good cheer left for owners to come.
This is one of a group of wonderful vintage/antique hooked rugs I purchased at a New England Estate auction. I'm selling them individually. They were crafted with yarn as opposed to wool strips. They measure 8” x 22” as for stair treads. Someone may actually want to use them as stair treads. I've seen pictures of them put on stair risers rather than the flats. My thought was to frame them for wall art, or put them on couch pillows before selling them, but then I thought there are many buyers who would have more talent at such handiwork than me. Especially buyers searching on Etsy. So, though I'm really reluctant to let them go, here they are! The subject matter, colors, and handwork are marvelous. The box they were in said that Grandma had made them. The edges may be frayed, a few spots need repair, and they need new backing. I did dare to clean them in fresh fallen snow, (which I'd like to sell you too or even send along for free). But again, someone who knows more may want to clean them more professionally. The snow certainly didn't hurt them, as it didn't get them wet, just helped to brush off any loose dust. good
