This is an early copy of "LITTLE MEN" - Life at Plumfield with Jo's Boys by Louisa May Alcott. 1873; Roberts Brothers; New York. There are 6 pages of advertisements for Alcott's works at the back. The book measures 6 1/4" tall x 4 1/2" wide. Early edition published two years after the 1871 1st edition.
Condition:
Clean front cover and spine; tiny stain spot near the center of the back cover; bright gilt lettering on the spine; sharp corners. Small cloth tear and fraying at the top edge of the spine. Tight binding with no loose pages. At the front of the book is an insignificant, 1" crack at the top of the spine between the end paper and pastedown (despite the 1" crack, the front good cover is still firmly attached and not shaky). The pages are in very good condition - lightly age-toned, but clean with only a small, light stain at the bottom edge of page 81. The front end paper has a name/address written in pencil dated 1875. The book leans to the right. Overall a very nice copy.
