Ol'Gertrude - Barn Beam good End Table

Ol'Gertrude really doesn't have much to say. She's never been a talker - she doesn't have to say anything once you look her in the eye. Look closely and you will see she has two. She's always been tough and is used to carrying a heavy load.

This Barn Beam End Table is from the Millgrove Collection, which consists of over 40 different pieces from one Barn in Millgrove Ontario. Most Products from this collection are named after popular names from the 1900 – 1910. Some names were organic.

All the beams were hand hew, which means someone used an axe to give them their shape back in the early 1900s. You can see the marks on the sides of the beams. They are all made from reclaimed/recycled wood that was milled at the local Millgrove mill. Once the beams were milled the exterior layers was sanded off to bring out the grain and original colour, before putting on the finish.

Each piece is one of a kind and unique in its own way. When The Boers Wood Shop purchases the full beams we look for beams with a lot of character and notches.
