This lustreware opalescent set is as stunning as it is rare! It has the trendy ombre fading of a pale orange to a pale yellow cream color. This is a beautiful stand out set.

This is a really nice vintage Royal Winton Grimwades tea cup and saucer set multicolored lusterware. The cup measures 3 inches across and 2 3/4 tall. The saucer measures 6 7/8 inches in diameter. This set is in very good vintage condition with no chips or cracks or gold loss. There is crazing of the glaze all over the saucer and very very little to the inside bottom of the cup but that is really not very detracting, consistent with vintage Royal Winton Grimwades pieces.

Chintz was introduced in England during the great depression of the 1930's. It was meant to be bright and cheerful, a spot of color. good Today, English chintz is highly collectible, especially Royal Winton, which is still the gold standard for chintz.
