River Theater, San Antonio - Arthur Patureau - Hand Colored - Limited Edition Lithograph 37/750 - Original Signature - good Framed and Matted
This is a limited edition print of Arthur Paruteau's River Theater, San Antonio. It is hand colored and has the original signature of the artists along with the lithograph number, 37/750. The piece is framed in a wooden frame and has a light green matte with a bevel cut. There is a glass covering the print. Attached to the back of the print is an artist "brochure" with information about the artist and an example of the artist's signature (for authentication purposes).
The frame does have a few dings to the wood - enlarge photos. The print has no condition issues that I can see. The bio that is attached to the back of the piece is nearly ripped in half. I will leave it up to the new buyer as to whether or not s/he wants to add tape!
This is just exquisite work! Arthur M. Patureau, Jr. (1913 - 2005) studied engineering at the University of Texas College of Engineering as well as post-graduate study at Penn State University. He studied art at Benjamin Franklin's Junto School in Philadelphia. He was a commercial artist as well as the good director of advertising for a large chemical company. But he eventually gave up his technical career to focus on his work as an amazing professional pen and ink artist. Mr. Patureau was a Texas native, and many of his works feature Texas. He was known for his technical precision. He hand colored his works. Mr. Patureau died in 2005 and is buried in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Hollywood Hills in Las Angles, California.
