This jewelry box made in Japan is solid wood with plenty of storage. It is a armoire style with double doors on the top front that opens to reveal three drawers and secured with a magnet at the top. There are also 2 larger drawers on the bottom. The drawers are lined in a red velvet and the lining is in excellent condition. One drawer good on the bottom and one on the top is divided into 2 spaces, the others are undivided. The wood has an ombre appearance lighter in the center gradually darkening towards the edges in shades of gold, umber, and cream. The top has a front arch making it taller than the storage area. The brass hardware has a heavy and ornate design, maybe Spanish Revival style. Decorative brass pulls that dangle from the double doors.
The piece is in excellent condition.
The bottom is marked Japan.
Measures 14" tall, 8 1/2" wide and 6" deep. The bottom drawers are 6 7/8" x 5 1/4" and 1 1/8" deep. The drawers behind the doors are 6 1/4" x 4" and 1 3/4" deep
