Vintage Novelty 60s 2 good pc Top and Capris Kangaroo Walking an Alligator Rhinestones Designer Malbe Original 1960's Leisure Wear Palm Springs

Such a cute pant suit by Malbe. Malbe produced a lot of novelty based resort wear in 1950's - 60's, with amazing fabrics and appliques, which are now really popular amongst vintage collectors. This is an early 60's avocado/moss green 2 pc, featuring an amazing large, cotton applique of a Kangaroo (holding a watering can) while walking her pet Alligator on a leash. The applique also has glittering prong-set rhinestones. This is a rare 2 pc set and would be perfect for someone in the costume industry or a trip to Palm Springs! The fabric is a thicker woven cotton/linen.
The label is Malbe original, and both pieces are marked a vintage size 14 - please refer to the measurements below, as this is vintage sizing.
The top is a pull over style and the hem of the top is sort of scalloped at the sides (not straight across). From shoulder seam to shoulder seam is approx. 20.5" (meant to droop a bit), from underarm to underarm is approx. 20" across (40" doubled) and goes straight down. Total length from mid-shoulder to hem is 23" at the front and back, at the sides were the slit is to the scallop is about 17". The sleeves are approx. 16.5" from the top of the shoulder seam to the outer end good. Approx. 8" across at the arm opening and 7" across further down.
The pants close on the left side with a hidden 7" metal zipper and a small button. There are two hidden front pockets in the pants as well. The waist band is 1 1/4" high. The pants are approx. 26" at the waist and around 40-41" at the hips (please allow yourself room for a proper fit as they aren't meant to be skin tight). The pants are partially lined in a light white cotton material to about 5" below the crotch. From the top of the waist band to the crotch at the front is approx. 13.5". The length is 39" measured from top of waist band along outer edge to hem. The pant legs are around 11 1/2" across (measured flat) just below the crotch and taper to 6 1/2 at the bottom.
The outfit is in great condition, with little to no signs of wear, very crisp. I did notice a slight colour variation between the top and the pants but it is very subtle - I tried to capture this in my photos (sorry, I couldn't do this cute set justice!).
