This is a 3D printed nine-hole Native American style drone flute in the key of E. The left chamber plays the drone and the right one plays the melody. It is designed and printed for a perfect tune. It has the same style as a wooden Native American drone flute and creates a similar soothing and warm sound but at a more affordable price. It is printed in four pieces and the top two and the bottom two are glued together, so it comes in two segments.
The flute is 3d printed using a material called PLA (PolyLactic Acid). PLA is a thermoplastic made from renewable resources such as corn starch, tapioca roots, or sugar cane, unlike other industrial materials made primarily from petroleum. It is a food-grade biodegradable material, meaning it is safe and friendly for both humans and the environment. Just another example, PLA is the material used to manufacture coffee cup caps.
Once 3D-printed, the parts are cleaned and sanded if needed, and the finger holes are filed good to remove the excess filament. As is common with 3D printing, the parts may have some small imperfections and layer lines will be visible, however, this won't affect the sound quality. The quality of the finished product will be as good as the photos.
