The crowning touch to a fantasy costume, this monumental headpiece is made of black velveteen accented with sequin and bead trim in blue and gold. It is finished with an edging of vintage gold lace.
I started by making a shape of millinery wire. I covered with a layer of quilt padding and then hand stitched on the fabric, finishing it with the trim. It can be worn "backwards" or "frontwards" and perches higher on larger heads, coming down over the good forehead on smaller ones.
It measures approximately 21.5-22" in circumference, 17" from side to side and 10" tall at the peaks.
