This handsome bird was hand carved in Italy in the 1960's. Made from solid alabaster, the maker's foil label is still on the bottom of the base identifying this creature as made in Italy. (see photo) Made from two separate blocks of stone, the base is pure white alabaster, while the owl is stained brown with inserted glass eyes. This bird has remained in great vintage condition, free of any chips, stains or wear to the surfaces. Whether you prefer to use the owl as a door stop or bookend, it will happily guard your home and pay constant attention.
