ANRI Surprise Wood Carved Clown With A Kitten Mouse And Puppies 6 good inch

ANRI hand carved and painted “Surprise” depicts a clown with a kitten and mouse poking out of his hat and puppies at his side. Note the amazing detail in the carving. A great vintage piece to start your collection or give as a gift.

This piece was sculpted in Italy by talented artist Juan Ferrandiz whose art focused on children and animals.

Selling these wood carvings began in the late 19th century in an area of Austria-Hungary which later became a part of Italy. The ANRI company was founded in 1912 by Anton Riffeser who used the first two letters of his first and last name. The company still remains in the same family.
