"THE RED SCORPIONS OF SADRAFA" were spontaneously designed in-studio, inspired by the visceral phenomena of passion, sensuality, power, and creativity. They were created and imbued with the intent that they summon forth the wearer's inner goddess, the woman who wears the mantle of power with the same ease as she might a sheer, gilded gown…a woman whose gaze is a hypnotic gift that strikes men into awestruck stillness…a woman whose whisper falls like an injunction from heaven…a woman who embraces the wild, frothing waves of life with open arms, and whose loses regrets as easily as water is lost in sand. She is the rich fertile ground from which life, love, laughter and inspiration bursts forth…and these alone adorn her most elegant ears!
SADRAFA & HIS SCORPIONS
Sadrafa, a chthonic deity whose symbols are the snake and the scorpion, and whose name contains the element “rafa”, meaning “to cure,” possessed the special gifts of healing and fertility. Sadrafa's temple dates back to the first half of the first century A.D., and he may be considered the original “Scorpion King.” Sadrafa's scorpion is represented on reliefs found in the Temple of Ba'alshamen in Palmyra, an ancient Aramaic city located in an OASIS in what is now central Syria. Arguably, it is Sadrafa's snake and “winged victory” symbols also found in the same temple which history sees combined later in the Greek caduceus, what we now know as the symbol for the medical profession, the profession of healing! good In antiquity, Palmyra was a legendary and vital caravan stop for travelers and merchants crossing the Syrian desert and was known as the “Bride of the Desert.”
TURQUOISE, which means "Turkish stone," here representing the ancient feminine energies of Earth and Water, is one of the oldest protection amulets, and was also known as a symbol of wealth in most ancient cultures, particularly this variation of COPPER TURQUOISE, a purple/violet shade favored by royalty of ancient Egypt. Turquoise is a very personal and meaningful stone to one who wears it, as it takes on and resonates with the characteristics of its owner. For ages it has been paired with copper, which increases the power of turquoise. Interestingly, turquoise derives it's usual color from copper in it's composition, and the purple or "copper turquoise" from a much higher level of copper than the more usual blue/green turquoise.
