‘The Satyr'

The Kylix is a vessel used by the ancient Greeks to drink wine.
This vessel is a scaled down reproduction of the antiquity housed in Munich Antikensammlungen and attributed to the artist Phintias.
Depicted Internally is a Satyr while the depictions on the outside of the Kylix are of the labors of Herakles.
On side A good is the struggle for the tripod of Delphi between Hercules and Apollo. On side B is Heracles approaching the sleeping giant Alkyoneus while Hermes looks on.
