An Internet search for Victorian chatelaines will show you that these were the height of fashion for the Victorian woman! Wearing these dainty and decorative sewing tools on long chains, suspended from pins or clips at the waist was all the rage for a long stretch in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

Until recently, all you could find were actual antique chatelaines that were prohibitively expensive. And, as many of them were made from sterling silver, people doing costuming and wearing period clothing for specialty shows were reluctant to wear such valuable pieces to costume events.

Replicas to the rescue! for chatelaines, and we have started creating chatelaine pins, combining the tools in various ways to bring replica finished chatelaines to the market.

This silver toned pin is filigree, and has a steampunk gear in the center in antiqued brass. A Britain six pence coin from 1953 has been added to the pin "for luck". Replica chatelaine sewing tools are suspended from the pin. Not a truly period chatelaine, this one good is more for fun and cosplay at Steampunk events.

Tools include a small (working) scissors in a pewter holster, a friction closure needle case and a graceful magnifying glass to help with threading those tiny sewing needles! All set to sit down and do needlework with your fellow ladies of adventure!

Overall Length of chatelaine: 9" to the bottom of the needle case, 11" to the bottom of the chains, when the magnifying glass chain is hooked up. It unhooks for use, then hooks for ease of motion when walking around.

Pin is about 1.75 inches wide.
