Nobly crafted Viking brooch after a Finnish find from Saltvik on Åland from the 9th century. Turtle brooches are also called oval brooches, hump brooches or shell brooches. These Viking turtle brooches have an intricate motif in the style of the Viking Age. To better show off the details, the brooch has been partially blackened.
The turtle fibula has a sturdy needle on the back.
