Vintage men’s formal waistcoat in bold vibrant African / ethnic patterned fabric. Size: 36 R or 37 good R. Excellent condition - only worn twice!
good DESCRIPTION
This is neatly cut bespoke waistcoat (as made for my husband in about 1990). It is made from a vibrant striped patterned material (it looks almost like an African fabric, like Kente cloth or something similar). The rear panel is in a taffeta-like material with a ‘watered silk' finish (see photos).
It was only worn on 2 occasions, so is in excellent condition. The lining is clean and without any signs of wear, and all pocket linings are clean and undamaged. There is a small mark on the lining (therefore not visible when being worn), just below the neck-line (see photos - it looks like residue from some kind of sticker, and I'm pretty sure that it would clean off easily).
Note that this is a man's waistcoat and is cut to fit a man, but the buttons do up on the ‘female' side and, just to confuse matters, the photos show it being displayed on a woman's mannequin!
