An absolutely incredible beautiful meadow landscape. This oil on canvas painting depicts a scene from Luneberg Heath, a woodland area in the northeastern part of Lower Saxony in Germany. The painting is signed "E. Morlang" at lower right and titled "Luneberger Heide /b Hilsede," identifying the scene as Luneberg Heath. While the subject matter is German good, the stretcher bars do bear a maker's mark from an art company in the United States, so it is unclear if the artist was German or American. It is exquisitely painted with a feather touch that makes the trees and flowers come alive. It is framed in a two-toned gilt wood frame. Based on the frame and the age of the canvas, I would date this to the 1950's. The painting is in excellent condition. Some minor cracquelure along the right side and in the center tree. Otherwise, no noticeable issues. The frame has some light scuffs near the top. Painting measures 14" high x 10" wide. Frame measures 16.75" high x 12.75" wide.
