Hand stitched Shibori dyed blue indigo tote bag “Ocean Waves” with interior pocket and zipper. Your bag has lots of special details. The interior zipper pocket of this bag also have a stitched pattern and shibori fabric pull as shown in the photos. There is a handmade special tassel pull made from my jersey knit Shibori dyed fabric. This bag is large measuring 19.5" width, 13" in height excluding the handles and has a depth of 4.5". This tote bag was hand sewed and naturally dyed with indigo. An interesting fact about the indigo plant is that its green! After I have taken the steps to dye your good bag and pull it from the vat the color comes out a neon green. Then the dye interacts with the air and oxides and slows turns to that wonderful indigo blue. The stitches are then removed to reveal a pattern and design completely unique to your bag. Dyeing with natural colors produces beautiful nuances in color that cannot be replicated with chemical dyes. This tote bag would be perfect for the pool, beach, gym, or day trip to a museum or park.
