The collection is inspired by the arbitrary formations of the marine animals. The irregularly arranged little beads create lively, vibrant shapes and surfaces - the jewelry itself is reminiscent of small, shimmering creatures. This collection pays tribute to the abundant habitat of the underwater beings which thrive in hidden vast world beneath.

MATERIALS
oxidized 925 Sterling Silver
About the dark finish: the surface of this silver jewelry is intentionally oxidized. It got a surface treatment (like a gold plating), which means that good this coloring is only preserved for a certain period of time.
On some pieces, such as earrings or pendants, the darker surface remains for a very long time for there usually is hardly any friction on the neck or ear.
With arm jewelry, rings or wedding rings, the darker surface rubs off quicker as a result of daily wear - friction, bumping, scratching and the normal strain on the surface.
The rings with a slight concave groove, with a part of the silver surface in a lower position, these dark surfaces are protected and last longer. This can create a nice contrast between the upper, lighter and the lower, darker parts and gives the piece a distinctive look.
However, each piece can be easily and inexpensively restored to its original look by repeating the surface treatment. If you are interested in this process being renewed, please contact us.

PROCESS
The original piece was molded in wax and then poured into a negative mould in silver. This process is called 'lost wax casting' as nothing of the original wax body remains, but the finished piece consists only of sterling silver.
Every earring is slightly different from the other.
All our jewelry pieces are handmade in our Berlin atelier.
