World War I (1914-18) Royal Marines Light Infantry Commemorative Cufflinks
These are a beautiful pair of cufflinks made with genuine British Royal Marines Light Infantry buttons (King George V) from the era of the First World War, over 100 years ago. This pair of cufflinks is made from two brass buttons. The Royal Marines Light Infantry amalgamated in 1923 with the Royal Marine Artillery to form the current ‘Corps of Royal Marines'. The Royal Marines Light Infantry were involved in many landings during the First World War including the original landings in Belgium and the Gallipoli campaign in Turkey. The cufflinks are made with a fixed back and good are reassuringly heavy and great to wear. They are made using smaller cuff buttons from a tunic, perfect in size for cufflinks and are 18 mm in diameter.
These rare buttons represent a unique part of First World War history. The brass buttons have been beautifully cleaned to retain the original character of the buttons which are approximately 100 years old, whilst highlighting the details of these original buttons.
This is a truly unique gift and a chance to own a small piece of Royal Marines and First World War history lovingly restored and made into a beautiful pair of cufflinks. They are presented in a luxury wooden cufflink box and cardboard cover to make them the perfect present.
