Those who appreciate the wonders and beauty of 19th century European cities may feel compelled to weep when they look through the pages of this superb, quality tourist photo album from late 19th century Hamburg, Germany. Dozens of amazing sepia-toned pictures show this ancient city at the height of its grandeur and enterprise good. Tragic to realise the near total destruction of this city in World War II. Made in concertina form the book is enhanced by the original owner's notation inside the rear cover showing her holiday house in Holstein, Germany in 1902. Mrs Heseltine of Adelaide also pinned some tram tickets inside the book giving it that extra uniqueness. A rare and interesting survivor from Germany of long ago. Condition is very good.
