This was painted out on location near the Walna Scar car park above Coniston. This is a common starting point for a walk up the Old Man of Coniston. The view shows ‘The Bell' a distinctive hill and the mountain of Wetherlam behind.
I tried to capture the changing light as the clouds moved across the sky with The Bell lit up by the sun.
It is painted in oil paint in an expressive style with some thick paint in places and I have drawn into the paint.
It is painted on a wood/mdf panel made by Jackson's art supplies. The panel is 5mm thick.
The painting is signed on the front in oil paint.
This would make a great gift for anyone who loves the Lake District mountain scenery.
