Antique French Salins-les-Bains plate depicting the famous French heroine, Joan of Arc, Jeanne D'Arc.
Joan is wearing armour and sword, holding a flag of fleur-de-lis, all of this in green, with a purple chateau in background.
On banners on rim, are the words, "Gloire", "Honneur", Liberte", "Patrie".
Some gold/yellow trim on rim and around central picture.

Only mark on neutral back is a impressed heart.
The factory at Salins-les-Bains was established in 1859 in an old abbey, this plate dates from mid to late 1800s.

In excellent condition, no cracks, chips or repairs, as new, really.
Amazing as it is well over 100 years old.
Vibrant colours, very faint crazing to glaze as would be expected gives it a lovely aged patina.
Photo #7 shows an indentation which is an exaggerated part of the design, not a chip.

A fun and colourful piece, which will add a touch of whimsy to your table.
These quintessential plates have made a big comeback and are very sought after items, highly collectible in France as they good are so old, colourful & pretty!
