good A vintage 1950s turquoise ceramic ashtray and cigarette holder with gold leaf trim. This ashtray was owned by a man who ran a nightclub and restaurant in Burbank, Califonria, in the 1940s and 1950s. The club was called "Dimples," which was a nod to the actress Shirley Temple.
Geometric in shape, one end has two cigarette rests. The other end is a shallow bay which held loose cigarettes. There is a pattern on the interior in relief. There is an embossed signature on the underside, but it is exceedingly difficult to read.
The ashtray is 12 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 1 1/2 inches tall. It weighs 1 1/2 lbs. In excellent condition, iwth one small nick on the end where the two cigarette rests are (see photos). Otherwise, the tray is in excellent condition,.
