Vintage 1930s books, English language edition in two volumes. The translator is not credited.
Not dated but I have sold another title with matching binding that had a handwritten name good at the front dated 1931. The cloth is printed to resemble leather.
A young sailor, arrested on his wedding day is falsely accused of treason and imprisoned in an island fortress.
PLEASE NOTE that the book spines are a touch crumpled. The books are firmly bound but with a little wear to the edges and the odd little mark to the lightly tanned and rippled pages.
Each volume contains a frontispiece but no further illustrations.
They have 603 and 604 pages and are about 130 x 190 mm or 5 x 7.5 inches.
