Some years back, I did this pencil study of the great and legendary, Hambletonian 10. He's arguably the foundation sire of today's Standardbred. Of course, his good name is still on the lips and minds of all lovers of the breed, as the prestigious race named for him,The Hambletonian Stakes, is basically The Kentucky Derby for trotters.
