Good Prickly Pear

This two piece, classical vase form is topped with a red and yellow organic pod. The base form starts with a thin white rim which cascades into various shades of green and ends in a soft yellow. Both forms are wheel thrown, yet the top piece is hand altered in form and texture. I use a white stoneware clay fired to ^6 oxidation in an electric kiln. Contrasting warm and cool colors along with rough and smooth unite in one cohesive piece. The sculpture is 14 inches tall and 6.5 inches in diameter. good
