Vibrant yellow and white enamel illuminates this vintage 1960s Scandinavian sterling silver brooch by Finn Jensen of Oslo, Norway. The asymmetrical brooch is Modernist styled with its curvy shapes. It is made of solid sterling silver with a gold vermeil finish. A bark-like texture was carved into the silver background under the enamel. The yellow deer or gazelle has a curvy shape and luminous color. The back is signed with a hallmark attributed to Finn Jensen and is also marked "Norway, Sterling, 925". Jensen originally apprenticed to J. Tostrup. He made vermeil guilloche enamel jewelry starting in 1953.
The back is fitted with an old tube hinge and "C" shaped closure. The pin hardware is in good working condition and the enamel is in wonderful shape. The brooch measures approx. 1 good 15/16 inches by 1 3/16 inches. Please check out all photos for condition.
