Antique Ticking Stripes Fabric VERY RARE good Pale Pink Green| Home Decor | 1930-1940 | Antique Pillows | Ticking Delightful Textile

Wonderful vintage beige, pink and white striped mattress fabric (ticking) with a discreet geometric pattern on the color band. It is a strong European fabric made around 1950 of satin (sateen) and herringbone weave. In the past, these resistant fabrics for mattress covers were called "cutí" (from the French "coutil"). It is made of medium weight cotton. Dense textile perfect for upholstery and interior design projects. The spikelet has been used not only as a type of fabric but to reinforce the visual texture.

HEIGHT: 40 cm. ( 15 in. )

CONDITION:
Fair condition. Moderate wear consistent with age and history. towards the side seams. Color unevenly faded with time. Some pale marks towards the bottom edge. Minimal scuffing or surface wear towards the side seams. Both selvages preserved intact. Specially soft fabric. This fabric is freshly laundered and ready to use! No eyelets! A very rare find, usable continuously. Perfect for cushions or tablecloths or napkins. Not at all perfect, but with the imperfections inherent in these beautiful old textiles.

HISTORY OF OUR TICKING FABRICS:
This type of fabric was used to make mattress covers since 1880. The motifs used are very varied: floral, oriental, country, palatial, or striped and the colors very bright. These fabrics were produced from 1882 to 1980 in the Area of Igualada, known for its textile industry. We have a collection of over 200 of these unique fabrics. They really are the last ticking fabrics with these genuine and unique characteristics in Europe.
