Product code: Early good 19thC H&R DANIEL Gilted Oval Platter - England - 1822-1846

Rather rare piece from the workshop of H & R Daniel produced sometime between good 1826 and 1854,
Henry Daniel was the supervisor for all the enameling and gilding done at the Spode Works until he started his own business in 1826. His pieces are rarely marked however the quality is evident as it equaled that of Minton and Spode.

Rococo style, oval shape with deep crimson rim highlighted by stylized floral in gold gilt.

Some slight rubbing of glaze around the inner edge of the cavetto as shown ion photo, Not noticeable unless upon close inspection and indicative of age and some use

Measures about 12 7/8" x 10 3/8"

The Daniels closely rivaled Spode and Minton, and their ware is unfortunately neglected by collectors, who as yet do not recognize Daniel porcelain.'
