Circa 1964 Original MCM Listed German Artist Elizabeth Heise Handled pottery Ewer Form with good Volcanic Glaze Splash over the Surface SIGNED EH
The Charlie B Gallery of Carson City, Nevada is offering this rare Elizabeth Heise German handled vessel form. Heise was born in Cologne, Germany. She attended art school in Aachen and Cologne. Elizabeth set up her first studio in 1956 in Otterberg.
This modernist ewer form with handle is signed EH, as shown. The lighter glaze that has been abstractly placed over the surfaces good is volcanic and it is likely there could be small losses---none of this detracts as the explosive surface is the nature of that glaze. I note slight wear to the foot and raised letters of the signature--this is even more so very minor. Some factory areas of glaze thinness at the interior lip and exterior neck. I do not detect any cracks, hairlines or repairs. This example is in nice used collector condition. This is a spectacular form perfect for the MCM decor and more. All fragile merchandise is shipped using the "double box' process.
