Pre good Eagle Sterling Silver Mexican Bracelet w/ Light Blue Glass Ornate Art Deco Setting Vintage 1940s Handcrafted Jewelry
Spectacular vintage sterling silver Mexican bracelet is set with beautiful blue glass, c. early 1940's (pre-eagle marking system, begun in 1948). Ornate geometric Art Deco setting features slender bands of silver overlaid on the reflective shaped glass. Curved panels are accented with graduated half balls and scrolls. Even the hinges are decorative. Entirely handcrafted in the historic city of Iguala, Mexico. we love this brilliant style!
MARKS: “LMM” with a diamond shape “IGUALA 925 HECHO (partial) EN MEX (ico; partial). Before the good time of registering these wonderful makers, so we are unable to ID. Per Bille Hougart's “Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks” few records of older maker's marks have been located and many archives have been lost forever.
CONDITION: a couple of balls have tiny dimples. Silver beneath the glass has mottled toning. Glass is in beautiful condition without chips. Nice patina in the recesses. Hinges are strong. Clasp works properly.
SIZE: 7” long x 7/8” wide. WEIGHT: 30.1g (1.06 oz). Sized for a smaller wrist.
