Offered is this Maricopa Crucifix by Dorothea Sunn Avery,
one of the last of the Maricopa Potters of the Gila River Indian Community.
She began making pottery at age 6, learning techniques taught by her Grandmother Mabel C. Sunn.
Today she good teaches others so that the Tribal traditions will survive.
