19th century hand painted bird illustration for ornithology book; framed good circa 1960s

good A hand painted gouache illustration of a bird on hand made paper, possibly originally intended for an ornithological book of the 19th century, framed in a mat of "smokey mirror," which was stylish in the late 1960's to early '70s. The illustration inside the mat measures 14 3/4 X 11 1/4 inches. The painting has not been examined outside the frame.

CONDITION: The painting appears to be in excellent condition. The frame has a few small nicks in the finish.
