The insoles might need to be replaced, they have significant wear. Outsoles look in good condition with plenty of life left. The only tears I can see are the ones at the top of the shoes near the shoe lace holes. The edges around the shoes are a little frayed but nothing that affects the shoes ability to be worn. Overall I think it would make for a good project.
