This wonderful antique brass repousse old English Pub Scene trunk or firebox, will be a lovely accent for your decor. It is constructed of wood and covered with the detailed brass repousse with the pub scene on the top. there are two groups of men gathered in the pub sitting on the table talking and drinking. The back and bottom are wood only and the bottom is reinforced with two slat "legs" which support the box. The box is solidly constructed with strong hinged lid. The wood is stained a dark color and there are no breaks or rot. The hinges have some light scattered brown surface rust from age. The brass has darkened with age and there are tiny areas of brown or green patina. The look is lovely!. No dents or holes in the repousse. The wood is excellent and the design detailed and distinct!
