good WMF Ostrich Hallmark Silverplate Bowl / Basket with Gold Wash
This is the perfect statement piece!
This bowl is elegant in its understated design. The bowl is round at the bottom but becomes more square at the top. The edges have a beautiful ripple effect. The inside of the bowl has a gold wash. The two sides of the handle intertwine creating a triangle. The handle can be placed upright or lay to the side. The bottom is marked, “WMF G” with a picture of an ostrich within this mark. This is the WMF mark from 1903-1910.
Condition: For an item over 100 years old, it still catches your eye. No dents. The gold wash has discoloration and spotting. The piece has not been cleaned / polished. See pictures for details.
Measures approximately: 5.25” across, 2.5” to the top of the bowl, 5” to the top of the handle.
