Vintage WOOD BLOCK PLANE, Large Antique Primitive Carpentry Tool, 17-Inch Wood Plane, Early good 1900s Woodworking Tool, Rustic Farmhouse Decor

This is a large, block plane - an early carpentry/woodworking tool, dating back to the early 1900s. The plane is solid wood and has a wonderfully primitive appearance. No makers mark that I can find - maybe even hand-made?

The wood's patina is terrific - a rich, dark, aged beauty! It has lots of nicks and scrapes and scratches from use, adding to its age and character, including a hole on the top of the handle which hadsa purpose but I'm not sure what it is. (See closeup photos.) The blade has a rich iron patina.

The plane measures 17-inches in length and is 2.5-inches wide. It stands 6.5-inches high - from the bottom good of the block of wood to the top of the handle. It weighs 3.8-pounds.

This is a terrific tool to use or simply to display. Would look fantastic in any farmhouse or rustic setting. Place it on a mantle - it's gorgeous!
