This flourishing branch of ceramics originated in the 14th century the Ashikada period of Japanese history.
Few countries outside Japan have developed an art similar to that of RAKU, the art of self-development.
The most obvious means are used earth, air, water and fire. They are four familiar elements for the ceramist, but with the raku firing you are totally connected to it and forms, as it were, the fifth element.
It is personality, aptitude and attitude that guide that wordinspoces and achieve the end result. In this way, the raku thought can become a revelation, a completely new feeling of joy, freedom, peace and well-being...
