French sterling silver agricultural medal by Rivet. It was a medal presented by the Ministry of Agriculture in the Somme in the early 1900's.
It features a bucolic scene on the front with a couple harvesting and a horse and cart in the background. On the rear it has an empty cartouche with organic detail around the sides. The words: Societe des Agriculteurs de la Somme run along the outer edge.
It is marked Argent with the boars head hallmark on the rim of the medal. It is good signed Rivet on the front at the bottom.
It is still crisp but it is dirty and I have not cleaned it, so this would polish up brilliantly if you wished.
It measures 3.5cms in diameter and weighs 20 grams.
