This small decorative bowl is by an unknown Italian maker, imported to the United States by Mitteldorfer Strauss of New York under their Peasant Village name. The design is a hand-painted depiction of two jesters with a modernist flair. They appears to be dancing with bold pops of color against a shiny black background. It is hand-signed 07477 Italy PV.
The bowl is in good vintage condition, with no cracks. There are a few glaze pops from manufacturing, and there are two fleabites. The first on the rim visible in the picture showing the lower part of the painted design, and the second slightly larger one on the rim, visible in the picture with the bowl turned upside down.
