This delicate little mandala has been hand burnt onto the surface of a small sliver of wood found whilst out walking along Otter valley. The wood has been highly sanded so the surface is silky smooth and a Lapis Lazuli gemstone detail has been added, and the piece has then been lightly waxed. polished and strung with a sterling silver ring on an adjustable cord, so it can be put over your head and adjusted to you desired length.
Lapis Lazuli has always been a highly prized crystal and was traditionally worn by priests. It is thought to stimulate the higher levels of the mind encouraging clarity and objectivity and is also believed to allow the release of stress bringing deep inner peace.
Lapis Lazuli is said to facilitate self-knowledge and self-expression and, when used in meditation, to enhance psychic ability and spiritual insight. In healing Lapis Lazuli balances the Third Eye Chakra and can good help overcome depression, lower blood pressure and to boost the immune system and the thyroid. Lapis Lazuli is also said to be beneficial for alleviating migraine headaches and insomnia.
