Product code: Vintage Robert Ehrlich & Linda Sacco Signed Limited Edition Serigraph/Silkscreen, Entitled good “Weeping Wheat”

good This is a vintage serigraph/silkscreen that is entitled “Weeping Wheat”, created by Pennsylvania artists Robert Ehrlich and Linda Sacco. It shows the black silhouettes of wheat in a field, against a (primarily) pink/fuchsia-colored background. It is identified (in the left corner) as being number 40, from a limited series of 250 prints. It is also signed (in pencil) by the artists, in the lower right corner.

Richard Ehrlich was born and raised in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area. He is a self-taught artist who started experimenting with silk screen imagery in 1969, when he was in his late twenties. (Note: Artists make serigraphs/silkscreens by placing a stencil on a fabric and then applying ink to the areas of the fabric that are not covered by the stencil.) Ehrlich began his art career selling his serigraphs/silkscreens, at art shows held along the East Coast. Linda Sacco received training as an artist, at Philadelphia's Moore College of Art and the California College of Arts and Crafts. For many years, she earned a living selling her boldly-colored and nature-themed paintings. Because there was such a high demand for the paintings, she eventually decided to convert her designs to serigraph editions. Beginning in the late 1980s, the team of Ehrlich and Sacco created the Philadelphia Landmark Series, which were original photographs of historic sites in the Philadelphia area. Together, they also created serigraphs with (mostly) nature-themed subjects. Their work has been in many one-man exhibitions and group shows, including at the American Craftsman Gallery, California Printmakers Society, National Academy of Design, National Gallery of Art, Philadelphia Art Alliance, Pratt Institute, University of Delaware, Rutgers University, and Society of American Graphic Artists. Their work has also been acquired for many private and public collections, including those of the California State Library, California College of Arts and Crafts, Harvard University of Fine Arts, Moravian College, Philadelphia Print Club, and University of Pennsylvania.

The framed and triple-matted print is 15 1/4 inches (wide) by 13 1/4 inches (high). The actual image is 6 3/4 inches (wide) by 4 3/4 inches (high).

This artwork is in good condition, with no tears or stains. It is in an inexpensive gold-tone metal frame, which has no dents, but has some scratches. There is some yellowing of the print's background paper, along its edges. This can be seen, most clearly, in images nos. 4, 5, 6, and 7.
