Antique Mauchline thimble case picture good of Bourne mouth from Terrace Mount and silver thimble Birmingham 1920. Sewing Box Collectible.
This is a nice antique Mauchlin thimble case containing a sterling silver thimble
The case bears a transfer black and white print of
BOURNMOUTH FROM TERRACE MOUNT
The thimble is hallmarked for Birmingham 1920 and was made by J Swann & Son
It bears the size number 4
The box has a hook fastener and the receiving mount is made out of red velvet
The box measures 1 inch across x just under 1 1/2 inches in length - height 1 1/4 inches
(2.5 cms x 3.5 cms x 3 cms)
The thimble measures just under 1 inch high (2 cms) - circumference 2 inches approx (5 cms) - weight 2.1 gms
Both the box and thimble are in a very good condition overall - no holes, splits or damage
The box fastens firmly
A lovely antique sewing collectible which would make a lovely gift
